Road:
The main approach from London is the A22 and from the Channel
Ports of Newhaven or Dover, the A259. The Brighton by-pass,
the A27, provides a good journey from the West while the M23/A23
and onto the A27 makes an alternative route from the M25.
Road users travelling from the North and East can avoid London
by using the M25 and the Dartford Tunnel. Approach Eastbourne's
north east side from the A21.

Coach:
National Express coach services depart from London Victoria
Coach Station. The journey from London to Eastbourne takes
about two hours.

Rail:
There are two trains from London Victoria every hour. It takes
about 90 minutes.The main stops are at Clapham Junction, East
Croydon, Gatwick Airport and Lewes. An hourly service links
Eastbourne directly with Ashford International and the Channel

Air:
London Gatwick International Airport is less than an hour
away by direct rail link. Coach transfers or taxis can be
arranged to complete the journey at the same time. Visitors
arriving at London Heathrow Airport can travel into London
to catch the mainline rail service from London Victoria.The
journey by road takes less than two hours.

Ferry:
Passengers can travel in to Newhaven or Dover from the continent.
Newhaven is closest to Eastbourne taking just half an hour by
road. The train takes longer as there is no direct link to Eastbourne
from Newhaven. A change must be made at Lewes. From Dover the
journey time to Eastbourne is approximately one and a half hours
by road. The journey by rail requires a change at Hastings. |
