A Tribe of Toffs formed in 1986 when Andrew Stephenson and Philip Rogers approached their friend Stephen Cousins with the idea for a new band.

Stephen and Phil had been in a band together called The Neutrons five years before. Michael Haggerton completed the new line up and the band was soon recording their first album. Read the full band history here.
